Veiled Whisperings: Sample Poems

Inspiration

I lack discipline
That is it, my folly
Holding some vision, knowing
I must do
To become
Yet I am
As I seem
I see
But blink

Motherkiss

Deserts no longer satisfy
No sherry, port, or plum
Confections soured
Since you’ve come
Satiation seems denied

It’s told the Angels press babes’ lips
Leaving Their cleft mark:
“Tell them nothing:
Hush! Till Death
Harvests off the Oath.”

Still, evening’s Crafty Cragsman:
Along your lips I prowl
Prying; searching les fissures céleste
Where Ambrosia’s trace,
Like ether, sometimes escapes

Since I Could Not Have The Sun

Since I could not have the sun,
Crashing waves,
Wind-swept sand,
Squealing toddlers’ joy
Chasing surf and shells,
I’ll take the moon:
Full
And Cheshire-smiling

Since I could not keep my youth,
Slender limbs,
Stunning face,
Feline-slanted eyes
Seeing more than wise,
I’ll lock the mirror’s
Fog
And luscious lying

Since I could not shield our lives,
Overwhelmed;
Often fun,
Crowded, talent wars
Crashing plans, desires,
I’ll embalm our days
Inked
In words undying
